Description:
"Olive Torres is used to being the unlucky twin: from inexplicable mishaps to a recent layoff, her life seems to be almost comically jinxed. By contrast, her sister Ami is an eternal champion . . . she even managed to finance her entire wedding by winning a slew of contests. Unfortunately for Olive, the only thing worse than constant bad luck is having to spend the wedding day with the best man (and her nemesis), Ethan Thomas.

Olive braces herself for wedding hell, determined to put on a brave face, but when the entire wedding party gets food poisoning, the only people who aren’t affected are Olive and Ethan. Suddenly there’s a free honeymoon up for grabs, and Olive will be damned if Ethan gets to enjoy paradise solo.

Agreeing to a temporary truce, the pair head for Maui. After all, ten days of bliss is worth having to assume the role of loving newlyweds, right? But the weird thing is . . . This was such a great read! I loved the dynamic and clashing personalities between Olive and Ethan. Although the plot of the story was nothing special, I found the main MCs to be amazing characters. I adored seeing them clash, bond, and reconcile throughout the story. I'm not sure if this was supposed to be a comedy, but the banter between Olive and Ethan are gold. Even though Olive is painted to be a pessimist, I find her to be very relatable, because who doesn't think of the worst when something happens? Cuz I do and now I want Olive to be my friend. Also, her inability to lie? As adorable and embarrassing as it was, I too find this relatable. I also loved how family was used in the story, not just Olive's twin, but her extended family, who seem to always have her back and to always be there to catch her when she falls. It's all very sweet.

Even though the main problem of the story was that Olive and Ethan have to spend their respective sibling's honeymoon together, I liked that an even greater problem is revealed that put relationships at risk. Not only does it cause an obvious rift, but it also puts Olive's pessimistic trait to the test. Despite all of this, Olive and Ethan are adorable together, and I like how the story ended on such a great epilogue because Olive really deserved it after all the drama she had to endure.

Overall, this is a great romance book with great witty banter. Definitely recommend!

Overall rating:4.5 /5 😁👍
